The Skimcast app can be controlled using certain Bluetooth devices, allowing you to operate much of Skimcast without touching the screen.
Controlling the audio using Bluetooth
The Skimcast audio can be managed using any standard Bluetooth device that can control other audio apps on your device (such as music). For instance, you can navigate the Skimcast audio using Bluetooth ear buds or the audio Bluetooth controls in your car.
The play/pause button starts and stops the audio. Note: On iOS devices, it may be necessary to start the audio the first time from the screen control.
The fast-forward button advances the speech by one sentence.
The rewind button jumps the speech back by one sentence.

Controlling the camera
The camera is controllable from the keyboard, allowing pages to be scanned using a camera stand instead of holding the device in your hand.
Pressing ‘c’ opens the Camera Screen. This is equivalent to selecting “Take A Photo” from the New Skim menu. You can use this shortcut from the Featured Skims and My Skims lists or from within a Skim.
Pressing ‘c’ a second time will take a photo. You will then see the Accept Photo Screen prompting you to either accept or decline the photo.
Pressing ‘c’ a third time will accept the photo. This is equivalent to touching the red check mark on the screen. You will then see the Thumbnail Screen showing you a list of thumbnail images of all of the pages that you have scanned so far in your document.
Pressing ‘c’ again will add another page to your document. This is equivalent to touching the plus sign on the screen. You will then be returned to the Camera Screen.
Pressing Escape from the Photo Accept Screen will decline the photo and return you to the Camera Screen. This is equivalent to touching the big X at the bottom of the screen.
Pressing Escape from the Camera Screen or the Thumbnail Screen will cancel the current scan and return you to either My Skims or Featured Skims. This is equivalent to touching the small X at the top left of the screen.
Pressing ‘s’ from the Photo Accept Screen or the Thumbnail Screen will begin the skimming process for all of the pages that have been scanned. From the Thumbnail Screen, this is equivalent to touching the “Skim” button at the bottom of the screen.
Pressing ‘s’ from the Camera Screen or the Camera Screen will take a photo and immediate skim all of the pages that have been scanned, including the page just photographed.
